Windows Phone Recovery Tool now supports HTC devices
Microsoft’s Windows Phone recovery tool gives users the ability to revert back to Windows Phone 8.1 after upgrading to Windows 10 Technical Preview for phones. Previously, the tool supported only Lumia devices, but with the latest update, Microsoft has added support for HTC devices.
At the moment, the Windows 10 for mobile preview doesn’t support other devices, but it seems the company may add support for HTC Windows Phone devices in the next build, allowing HTC owners to enter the Windows Insiders program and test the upcoming operating system in preview form. Microsoft’s Gabriel Aul did promise that support for more devices will be added slowly and smartphones from other manufacturers will be added to the compatibility list.
As we reported earlier, Microsoft is expected to release the new Windows 10 Mobile build 10080 later today. We’ll update you as soon as the update is released, and if there’s support for devices from other manufacturers.
