Windows 10 phones with stereoscopic 3D displays Could soon be a reality
A few years ago there was a brief flurry of Android devices released by HTC with lenticular 3D displays. Those did not do too well in the market, but it seems we may see a return of such devices running Windows 10 Mobile, with Microsoft’s MSDN documentation confirming that, like Windows 10 desktop, Windows 10 Mobile will support stereoscopic 3D displays.
The documentation notes that displays could be internal or external, and one can imagine with the right USB-C connector we could see Windows 10 Mobile phones driving stereoscopic headmounted displays, which seems to me to be a somewhat better and cheaper solution than a single purpose all in one device such as Hololens.
The page can be seen at MSDN here.
