Windows Phone holds 11% market share in Italy according to new Comscore data
One of Windows Phone’s strongest markets has always been Italy, and according to Comscore a full 11% of smartphone subscribers in Italy use the OS.
The number is unchanged from May 2014, which is of course something of a miracle considering the ups and downs of Windows Phone.
The OS is 3rd to Apple and Android, and it seems over the year Android has been the only winner, up 7%, while Blackberry and Symbian has seen marked market share reductions.
Windows Phone is relatively well supported in Italy, having apps for Sky TV for example which are not available in other regions.
Hopefully the wave of coming flagship Windows 10 Mobile handsets will give Italians new reasons to continue to support and adopt the OS.
